About Janet Media Group
What is Janet Media Group?
Janet Media Group is an independent digital publisher. It owns and runs a portfolio of product-guide websites, each devoted to a single category, such as towels and bath linens, action cameras or sunscreen.
Who owns Janet Media Group?
Janet Media Group is owned by Janet H., who runs it hands-on and is accountable for the standards every site in the portfolio follows.
Is Janet Media Group owned by a retailer or a brand?
No. Janet Media Group is independently owned. No manufacturer or retailer owns any of its sites or decides what they recommend.
What is this website for?
janetmediagroup.com is the home base for the portfolio. It lists every site, publishes the standards they follow, explains how they earn money and gives you a direct way to reach the owner. It does not recommend products itself.
The Portfolio
How many sites are in the portfolio?
The portfolio is planned at twenty sites across five groups: Home & Garden, Kitchen & Entertaining, Outdoors & Active, Family & Kids, and Beauty & Personal Care. All twenty planned sites are in development and marked "Launching soon" on the portfolio page.
Why does each site cover only one category?
A site that covers one category can go deeper than a site that covers everything: it can learn the category's details, follow its safety standards and recalls, and explain the trade-offs that decide whether a product works for you.
What does "Launching soon" mean?
It means the site is in development and not live yet. We do not link to a site until it is live, so there are no dead links; the day a site launches, its card and profile page get a direct link.
Do the portfolio sites link to each other?
No. Each portfolio site links back to this hub, so you can always see who publishes it, but the sites do not link to one another.
How do I know a site is really part of Janet Media Group?
Every portfolio site links back to janetmediagroup.com, and every live site is listed on the portfolio page here with a direct link. If a site claims to be ours and is not listed, please tell us.
Picks and Testing
How do your sites choose products?
Every site uses the same six-step method: define who the product is for, shortlist what is actually sold, compare on published specifications and the factors that matter, check safety and recalls, explain the trade-offs, and state what was and was not tested.
Do your sites test every product?
No, and they say so. The policy is hands-on testing where possible. When a site has used a product, it says so specifically; when it has not, it says that plainly and shows what the pick is based on instead.
Where do the facts on your sites come from?
Primary sources first: manufacturer specifications and manuals, regulators such as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, published standards, and named, linked independent testing.
Do your sites publish customer testimonials or star ratings?
Our sites never invent testimonials, ratings or test results. Anything of that kind must come from real use or from a source the page names.
Money and Disclosure
How do the portfolio sites make money?
Through affiliate commissions: when you buy through a link on one of our sites, the retailer may pay the site a small fee. Any other paid relationship with a brand is disclosed too.
Will buying through a link cost me more?
No. You pay the retailer's price. The commission comes from the retailer's side of the sale.
Does this hub site have affiliate links?
No. janetmediagroup.com has no affiliate links, runs no product recommendations and sells nothing.
Where do your sites disclose affiliate links?
On every page that has them, near the links themselves, following FTC guidance that a single disclosure on a home page is not enough. Each site also names its affiliate programs on its own disclosure page.
Contact and Corrections

Email janet.hoyo@yahoo.com or use the contact form on this site. Messages go to Janet H.
How do I report a mistake on one of your sites?
Send the page address, what you believe is wrong and a source if you have one, using the contact form's Correction topic or by email. When a page is wrong, it is corrected and the correction is noted on the page.
Can brands or partners get in touch?
Yes. Choose the Partnership topic on the contact form or email us. Contact from a brand never changes what our sites recommend.
